‘Memories’ by Heman Chong | Durational Performance

‘Memories’ is a performance involving the oral transmission of a 500 word short story written by Heman Chong. With the help of a personal trainer, the participant will spend hours committing the text to mind, and the performance ends when he/she/they will be able to orally regurgitate the entire short story without any mistakes back to the personal trainer.

These short stories are written to be memorised in person. Chong has promised to never publish these short stories in print or online. The only way of reading these stories is to memorise them. In this way, the story is given to the participant but only at great cost; a huge amount of time and energy is necessary to receive this gift.

All slots for this iteration of Memories have been filled. However, all are welcomed to join us in the gallery and watch the performance!
