About The Public Programme
Create a personalised nengajō (Japanese New Year greeting card) in a hands-on relief printing workshop led by Kyoto City University of Arts students and STPI.
Explore textured compositions on STPI handmade paper by layering printed motifs inspired by Singapore and Kyoto, and add a personal touch by carving your own unique designs on linoleum blocks.
This printmaking activity reflects the long history of cultural exchange between Japan and Singapore, and their shared innovations in print and paper.
Registration is required for this free programme.

STPI Singapore presents STPI in Kyoto: Print, Paper & Beyond.
Held in parallel with STPI’s participation at Art Collaboration Kyoto (ACK), STPI brings the spirit of innovation to Kyoto through an intimate series of artists talks, student-led workshops, and a curated showcase at the Kyoto City University of the Arts (KCUA) from 7 to 12 November 2026.
Both presentations are timely amidst Singapore and Japan marking 60 years of bilateral ties and celebrating over two decades of artistic exchange between STPI and Japanese artistic practices. These collaborations forge new affinities and connections with KCUA’s printmaking department and Kyoto’s longstanding heritage of craftsmanship and material mastery, fortifying an important key in STPI’s wider international practice.
