About The Public Programme
Most people see the finished work. This Open House, we are showing you everything else: the techniques, the workspaces and a team of passionate people who know exactly how some of our groundbreaking print and paper works came to be. This is your invitation to walk through the frame.
We welcome all kinds of curious: free drop-in experiences if you’re wandering in, and intimate ticketed programmes if you’re ready to immerse yourself into our world and try your hand at printmaking.
Step inside one of Asia's largest print and paper workshops and meet our expert technicians who will guide you through the craft from pulp to paper and print, alongside interactive demonstrations.
Join staff-led tours through the gallery and workshop to hear first-hand how we collaborate with leading artists in our Visiting Artists Programme, and how these Singapore-made works make it from the workshop table to our gallery walls – and in the collections of major institutions around the world.
Plus, for the first time in all Open House editions, learn directly from some of our beloved Singaporean residency artists—Cultural Medallion recipient Ong Kim Seng, who will channel his iconic watercolour practice into monotype printmaking, and Yanyun Chen, who will lead an exclusive hands-on session in floral monotypes, delving into composition, form and layering through botanical arrangements. Every ticketed programme ends with something made by your own hands.
What’s on the other side of the frame might surprise you. Come on through and take a closer look!
