Follow folktale storyteller Jumaini Ariff in this puppet-making and storytelling workshop as she tells the origin of Pat Pat the Ketupat, the delicious rice cake, and how it became a Hari Raya staple. Participants will start the workshop by crafting paper puppets with mark-making, and will be invited to retell the adventures of Pat Pat. This is a parent-child workshop, paired participants are welcome.

About the Storyteller
Jumaini Ariff is also known as ‘Nek Selampit’ the Folktale Storyteller; a unique, highly energetic character who is witty and filled with kampung charm. Effectively bilingual in English and Malay, Jumaini enjoys performing Asian folktales, fables and legends for audiences of all ages. Jumaini has performed in numerous national language and cultural campaigns as well as local and international storytelling festivals. She has performed at Gardens by the Bay, The Arts House, Singapore Zoo, museums, art galleries and many more.
