Singapore-born, UK based artist Kim Lim explored elements of light, form, space, line and rhythm through sculpture and printmaking. Regarding the latter as equally important to her sculptural practice, Lim kept the two opposing mediums in dialogue, allowing their processes to influence each other. These prints are a distillation of nature’s rhythms and forms – the veins of a leaf or the rhythm of one’s pulse. As intaglio prints, they bear the marks of a carver who gives physicality to ‘trapped spaces’ on a surface.
