1. 4’33” Revisited (2019)
Singapore-born and Berlin-based Song-Ming Ang is known for his interest in how individuals or societies interact with and process music. Focusing on music’s function as an entry point, he explores the unexpected ways in which knowledge is generated not solely by musicians and critics but by fanbases. Many of his works utilise sonic material sampled from popular culture and the everyday, with emphasis on craft and labour within the contexts of music and art-making. Ang represented the Singapore Pavilion at the 58th Venice Biennale (2019).
